2010 Summer Read it, Write it, Play it - Grades 3-10

For students in grades 3 to 10, Click Education Centre's Summer "Read it, Write it, Play it" is a not your typical Reading Program. After reading two novels in 2 weeks, students write a comparison essay on the 3rd week, and produce their own movie on the 4th week that connects the themes and characters of two novels.

This program is geared to engage students in the active reading process with critical thinking questions, paragraph responses and journals, and group work. And by connecting their reading experience to produce a movie of their own in the final week, students will feel accomplished and proud.

Using a Macbook, students will work in groups to write their own scripts, make their own props,  act out their parts, and edit their movies to include effects, music, and transitions. At the end of 4 weeks, students will take home a DVD of their movie.

DURATION: July 6 to July 29, 2010 and/or August 3 to August 26, 2010
DAYS/TIMES: Mon/Thu for 3 hours each for 4 weeks or 8 weeks (see specific times per grade in attachment)
TUITION: $500/4 weeks, $950/8 weeks
LOCATION: 7398 Yonge Street Unit 22D, Thornhill (Yonge St. and Clarke Ave, just north of Steeles Ave)
REGISTRATION: first-come first-served basis (max of 6 students per 1 teacher)
